Building a routine for Dhaka humidity
Rich creams that work in a dry winter turn into a slick by June. What to swap, and what to keep.

Humidity does not mean your skin is hydrated. It means water is not evaporating off it — which is why skin can feel greasy and tight in the same hour.
What to swap
- Heavy occlusive creams for a gel-cream with the same humectants.
- Oil cleansers for a light balm or a gentle gel if you are not wearing sunscreen.
- Thick sunscreen for a fluid you will reapply.
What to keep
- Your actives, at the same frequency.
- Your cleanser, if it is not stripping.
- Moisturiser — skipping it entirely is what causes the rebound oil most people blame on humidity.
Humidity is not the same as hydration. Sweaty skin can still be dehydrated underneath.
